Halloween 2019!

Bees with their Beekeepers!

Trunk or Treat at Church - Super great as always. The kids did games in each room to win prizes or treats - cake walk, donut eating, bobbing apples, guess what is in the box.... the list goes on.
Then they move outside to visit trunks of vehicles all decorated up.

Coraline!
Getting Ready! It always amazes me no matter how hard I try the end of getting ready and out the door is always SO MESSY. Oh Well. Fun is worth the Mess.

Cabella Lou!

This amazing man that comes home to add his final touches to everyone. Also, to make sure everyone will be warm enough - he is much more of a realist when it comes to the weather and dressing.

Outtakes from attempting a picture with Cecily...she was not too much of the bee wings - she thought someone was behind her.

This is the FIRST time Brother & Sister Johns (Jeremy & Collette) got to hold Cecily.

We LOVE this family. They moved to Indiana for his job and have older children who are a little younger than Levi and I and then adopted their nephews who are around Clairana and Nephi's age.

He was diagnosed with leukemia lymphoma this past year and this past Sunday I glanced down the hall at church to see Levi giving him a big hug and saying congratulations.
He beat it!

So instead of wearing a mask to church and being released from his calling at church (Coraline's teacher) which she LOVES him. He is now able to be around all those little people who bring so much joy and germs.

We invited my brother Dustin and his family to meet us there. His wife came with their three kids.  Liam is Spiderman

Then Halloween Night .... Looked like this. Normal tradition is to load up and head over to my brother's house and do the subdivision with them but the weather was rough. We went over to Jack and Jane's for a little bit and then went down the road to the first subdivision to trick or treat for a short time. Cecily stayed in the car and Levi and I rotated who got out with the kids.

I will say the magic still happened..... I LOVE when the toddler GETS IT. Cabella was in the backseat just eating away at what Mamaw had given her when we pulled up she said she was going to stay in the car..... Levi said "Okay we are going to go get more candy" He shut the door and walked everyone up to the first house. Then it clicked WHAT???!! Let me out of here! So I followed behind with her.

Then the first house all by herself. After that she was off catching up with them and had figured this whole tradition out!

I am bummed that we don't get to ever pass out candy but even in the junky weather I still love seeing random strangers and costumes.

Next year though we must get back to the Ashby tradition because everything is more fun with cousins!

These littles are so blessed to have such a great dad. One day when they get older and are exposed to the rest of this crazy world they will understand. I am grateful for our sheltered and comfortable life.
