Calf!

Cream had her calf on Monday morning - Memorial Day. Perfect timing as everyone was actually home together!

The kids ran out to do morning chores and came back in saying we see hooves! 

Of course, I called the expert across the field to come over and help. 

Within 22 minutes of us noticing she was in labor the little one was here. 

We all got to watch the whole process - you could tell such a relief from all of us when the nose poked out. No pulling. No helping. Just perfect. And its a GIRL. 

 Of course she had her in the middle of the mud and not in the pasture. 

 The moment she hit the ground. Mamaw said that was the first dairy cow she had seen give birth standing up.

Tradition! Levi took Clairana and Nephi to go spelunking in Kentucky. They had an amazing time.

 Nephi got his best buddy a birthday present. Everyone is getting big so fast these days. It is funny with motherhood you slowly stop seeing other moms at places because the teenagers start driving themselves. Next month we will turn over a new chapter in our house with driving! Looking forward to Clairana and Nephi taking themselves to seminary and drama practice. 

 

Mother's Day Farm Life

Mother's Day! 

Thankfully my church meetings were cancelled so I got to have a slow morning before church with everyone. Lots of little notes and gifts.

 Tractor mowing then spotted this one coming down the hill with the biggest smile. Busted. I am so glad he got this toy for himself to hang out with Nephi. 

 Clairana made Texas sheet cake and Lotte thought it was her birthday so we went with it. 

 Nephi even got out candles - spoiled toddler.

 I wanted to family brush the big dogs, they needed some love. It went pretty fast with all of us and you could tell it helped raise their spirits. Our female gets pretty sad when we get too busy to spend time with her.

 Bella picked the rhubarb and put it up all by herself.

Dayton Fire Station Fish Fry

Pappy and Bubbe invited us to join them at the local fish fry to support the fire department. 

Then we invited them back to our house for dessert. 

Of course we all were thinking of Uncle Tyrone and it made the day more meaningful. 💓

We took Lotte to the mall! We had not been in years but C wanted to look at prom dresses. I took a photo to remember prom dress shopping with a toddler too. The best of all worlds right now.

 Grandpa Rick stopped by for a visit on his way back from a doctors appt. He actually had a stroke last month and is doing amazingly well!

 Zoom call with the Chadbourne family in South Carolina. Their oldest opened her mission call for the church and is going to Brazil.
