Superbowl

For the Superbowl we heading to the Smith's house to watch all the screens and play all the games.
Levi smoked brisket and we had loads of comfort foods.
Great time and late night.
Brandy and Jesse's is really the only place where we go and I just sit on the couch and completely enjoy while the kids go everywhere and play till the wee hours of the morning.
It's always a fun tradition.
It helps that all of our kids feel like they are at some technology resort and their TV is massive.
 The littlest being crazy!

Arcade Life. We always change to pajamas there.

I made them stop to smile - this is what I got.

Charolette Henry & Mary Hollingsworth - 4/2021

This is an old post that never posted but rather was stuck in my drafts and I didn't know until I went to print last year's book.

April 8th 2021.

The Davis side of the family (Jack and Jane Evans - Jane's side) had a sad season this past year. Jane lost two of her sisters. Within such a short time of each other.
Charolette and Mary. They both passed away in April 2021.

We attended Charolette's funeral as a family but unfortunately we did not attend Mary's.
Jane wrote a beautiful obituary for me to add to the blog for our family to always have.

Mary Jeanette Hollingsworth
Mary, 82 passed away on Saturday, April 17th 2021 at home in Whitetown, Indiana.
Born in Clinton County, Indiana on October 29th 1938 a daughter of Russell and Marie (Thomas) Davis.
She was married to Robert Hollingsworth in Sheridan, Indiana. He preceded her in death in November of 2004.
Mary was a 1957 graduate of Kirklin High School. Mary worked in the wire factory for years, retired from there. She enjoyed going to casinos, loved to dance, enjoyed a good joke and always had a joke to tell.
She was survived by her son and two sisters Pam Burton of Frankfort and Jane Evans of Lafayette.
Preceded in death by a brother and sister.

-------- It is hard to transition from writing about such sad topics to a few pictures I took of the day because the kids are smiling and goofing around in the car together - our family has greatly experienced death but we also share with our children often that this life is not forever that life after this is so much better and we can know that people are happier and healthy in heaven and we will see them again - forever. We also know that some people don't believe this to be true but we want to live knowing this is not the end.

Cabella and Coraline

This was Jane's letter she gave me. I love that she knows how important things like this are to everyone and she was able to share this with us.

The girls have all kept this picture for different presentations about family. They love that our family is the same as Mamaw's 4 girls and one boy. Kenneth passed away in 2005.

Bookclub

We squeezed in a bookclub before the storm as well - although we were missing two families due to sickness and busy times.
We caught up on two books - Mighty Men and Winter in the Willows.

Great time as always just relaxing and snacking together!

Statehouse Adventure

Perfect Weather Timing.
I took the kids to the Statehouse for a tour and to peek in on sessions.
The weather was amazing - in the 50s. Right before the snow storm.
I ended up having a little drama before we left but it worked out lovely.
My van is too big for any of the parking garages so I had another mother who was going offer to take Nephi and Clairana so I was down to three littles - then I asked Aunt Woody if she would mind driving us down. It all worked out wonderful and I was so happy for the help.
It was nice that Clairana and Nephi got to go early and see everything and we followed up after lunch for the official tour.
Woody always says yes when I asked her to attempt my adventures with all the kids - maybe I should invite her just to come over and relax more instead of a big to do but its always memorable and we work so well as a parenting team!

Clairand and Nephi with their friend Adam.

Luke, Adam, Clairana, Nephi front and center with the tour guide.
This ornery one that seems to not want to hang out with us very much and would rather wonder around looking for herself.

The big kids were treated to donuts before the littles got there. Thanks Dennise! They had the best downtown tour guide because Dennise worked downtown and knew all the places to show them.

Aunt Woody with Coraline and Cabella!

Clairana - reading everything.

Telephone booth was a big hit.

Christmas Card Catch-Up

It is snowing outside and we are stuck at home which is lovely.
I have attempted to organize our playroom and my office. So...I finally am getting around to posting all our Christmas photo cards. I actually didn't send out one this past year so I need to be better this year! You always seem to get more when you send them out. Which I completely understand.
I am always so thankful for all the friends and family across the states that send us pictures of their growing families!

Millie's Shower

This morning Anne and I threw Millie a baby shower!
It was perfect. Levi and the kids all put together lox and we had a yogurt bar. I had such great friends help in many ways.
Anne did three different cute games that were a hit.
It was so nice to celebrate the Goodsell family and their little one after so many years of heartache.
We are looking forward to meeting this little one so much!

Look we all match!
Another surprise - I am the only one in this picture NOT expecting!
Anne surprised us and announced another little one is on the way in their house. Number Seven!
So Fun. I love these friends so very much.

Today filled my cup but I am exhausted.

Indiana Dunes

I had a girlfriend call last minute to see if we could go to the dunes the next morning.  I hesitated at first because we were booked all ni...
