Haan Museum Adventure

For our monthly adventure I arranged for us to have a private tour at the Haan Museum of Art in Lafayette. Our group was split up into two groups and although we had less than we thought due to sickness and vacations it was a great time.

The Haan Mansion Museum is a beautiful home, which started out as the Connecticut Pavilion in the year 1904. In present times, the museum is dedicated to promoting local art, and houses a large collection of creations by artists from different parts of Indiana. Paintings and ceramics are the major highlights, the collection of paintings by T.C. Steele, and other artists is a must see, while the ceramic pieces are very unique and worth checking out. The mansion is decorated with beautiful antique American wood furniture, from the 19th century, and is popular with visitors who admire classic royal furniture of the bygone era. Furthermore on the grounds there is a Sculpture Garden and a Nature Trail, both these attractions are free and open during the day.

Anne and I felt like this was a great representation of actual dinner time.

 It was beautiful.

 Littlest Adventurers for the day!

The Native American paintings from an artist in Texas were so large.

Fancy desk cost a third of what the house did!

 Deep thoughts.

The Weaver family joined us as well.
