Meat Chicks!

     We got a call from Purdue last week about over 100 meat chickens that needed to find a home. 

We ended up with 40 and gave another homeschooling family 20. 

Not the best timing, but we can't beat free birds! They will be butchered in early April. 

PS In case I haven't mentioned it Cecily lost a tooth on New Years Day. 

She just casually leaned over to me and said "tooth mama" while we were watching a movie. I may have freaked out.

The only thing we can figure is it was from her fall. We had our dentist friend looked at it and everything looks fine she may end up with a spacer there due to it being about 4 years too early to fall out. 

Pinewood Derby

Each year for Activity Days both the boys and girls get to participate in the Pinewood Derby. 

This year Coraline and Nephi both got to race. They both did really well but didn't win. 

Papaw let them borrow his shop which helped speed up the car making process. 

 

Bookclub

We are missing the Goodsell family because today is the day! Millie went into labor early this morning. It made bookclub even more exciting! Waiting on the news! 

Such a great book even Levi enjoyed being part of the nightly read aloud. Lots of tears from the reader….

I don’t even want to talk about the story because it is so good. So here’s the back.

 

Bird Day at Co-op

We made bird figures out of clay, dissected owl pellets, and did an experiment with oily feathers. 

Seven more weeks until our year is complete.

So far we haven’t missed a week from sickness or weather! Hopefully, we can hang on! 

 

Adventure Group

Adventure group ended up renting out Fowler Theater to watch Mary Poppins. 

We had 50 homeschoolers! 

At the end of the movie, I added 5 more little people to my crew and headed for the park. 

The day was so fun and the weather was beautiful. 

Lauren and April came to the park.

Valentine Party

Valentine's Day at co-op. It was so much fun! I brought in all our Valentine's books, Clairana painted faces, passed out valentines to each other, and Carly played all sorts of fun games.  

 A form of telephone. It was hilarious. Carly was so sweet and started out with a scripture, but it definitely didn't end up the same. 

They ate jelly beans that they didn't know the flavor - some were great others were vomit or toothpaste. 

 Bella passed out glasses instead of cards.

Sc

 Science Time. Popcorn while learning about Galen and Hippocrates.

 This is Molly she comes and watches my girls each week and I love it. 

 

Zion

Zion scared me to death the other night. He let himself in the back door and I came out to do our nightly read aloud without my contacts in and freaked out that he was under the table. 

I was amazed that none of us even notice! He is huge and not one of us even saw him. 

Very observant family at bedtime.
