Bookclub

Our favorite time of the month! Book-Club Time.
We read Al Capone Does My Shirts
Al Capone Does My Shirts is a historical fiction novel for young adults by the author Gennifer Choldenko. In the book, Mathew Flanagan and his family move from Santa Monica to Alcatraz Island when his father takes a new job as an electrician and a guard in the well-known Alcatraz prison.

Denae hosted and we used April's church building so it worked out wonderful!
In the book the girl is autistic and loves her buttons so we did button art. She also loves lemon cake so Denae brought that too.

Everyone sang happy birthday to Cecily.

The mama picture we always try to remember and most times forget. Plus the littlest one!

Denae running a discussion on the book and the history of Alcatraz. She also taught the basics of baseball which was played in the book.

We brought our simple baseball gear and the kids all had a blast playing in the gym. I even caught C and N in action!
