Clairana's Essentials Paper

I am not big on keeping paper that is why I try to place all the important things in my blog books for the kids to see later on.

Here is Clairana's Essentials paper for the week.

She does a key word outline then writes out a rough draft and finally types it in MLA format to present each week. Each week they have additional steps to add to make the paper even more amazing. This week she needed to add a who/which clause and an ly adverb.

She is loving this class so much and we were both so nervous about it but it seems to be such a great challenge.

The Adventurous Journey

In 1620, Goodman John Howland, who was excited to go on a new journey, boarded the Mayflower with Englishmen searching for religion freedom. They ventured a crossed the Atlantic Ocean to America. During the trip there was a terrible storm. There was ferocious lighting, dramatic thunder, endless winds, and huge waves that rocked the boat frantically. The passengers stayed down below in the gun deck, which was crowded, wet, and cold, hoping the boat would not sink.

Goodman John Howland, who did not like to be cooped up like a chicken, climbed up the ladder to the top deck. Without warning, the ship rolled and he fell into the ocean. Luckily, when he fell he grabbed a rope that was hanging from the side of the boat. While he was dangling he screamed for help. Thankfully the sailors, who had short beards, saw what had happened. They told him to grab onto a boat hook. He was relieved and very grateful. He knew this would be an adventurous journey to the new world.
