Thankfully, it feels like every book I pick up to read to the kids tells about people who had to lay in bed for months or even years from sickness or accidents and it knocks me off my self pity thoughts.

Coraline –My favorite
story from the New Testament is about Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus did not give up
easily in his wish to see Jesus. As Jesus entered the city, Zacchaeus was small
and wanted to see Jesus but could not because of the crowds, so he climbed a Sycamore
tree and waited for Jesus to pass. From the tree, he saw Jesus, and Jesus saw
him. Looking up, Jesus said, “Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I
must abide at thy house” (Luke 19:5). Surprised at Jesus’s words and actions,
the crowd “all murmured, saying, Jesus had gone to be guest with a man that is
a sinner” (Luke 19:7). Because Zacchaeus was a tax-collector the people judged
him, but God sees people differently and he knows us by name.
Cabella – My favorite story about Jesus is when he was resurrected. One day we will all be resurrected and our spirits and bodies will be brought back together again. This time they will be perfect. Our bodies will never get sick or die. They will be immortal and wonderful.
Cecily – My favorite story about Jesus is the lost sheep. Jesus is our shepherd and we are his sheep. He loves all of us. He wants all of us to be with him forever.
