Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat at Church!
We had loads of fun and Aunt Woody came along to help which made the evening so much more enjoyable. She then treated us to dinner.

Brighten was to excited to make stand still.
Coraline went as a cat and Clairana went as Day of the Dead.
Clairana did everyone's face painting which was a HUGE help and she enjoyed it.

Afterwards attempting to get paint off - Nephi went to dinner just looking dirty. Although it secretly reminded me of a time in Vegas when I put eye liner on Levi. HaHa.

Bee Keeper with her littlest bee. The shiner really added to the costume.

Nephi and Jeremy

The Asays - they were so well dressed and passed out mustaches which I loved so I had to take a picture to remember and show Levi.

Echo

We lost our sweet Echo boy on Monday.

He is the first goat we have ever lost.

I noticed he had slowed down eating and with everything going on by the time I started to investigate and give him meds he passed the next morning.

He will be missed on this farm.

We have had him for seven years (our wonderful church friends housed him for two years when we were away in Arizona.)

He brought many baby goats into this world that we all have learned so much from.

Cecily’s Accident

On Saturday - 23rd we received a miracle in our house.
After the loss of Tyrone our hearts and minds were in shock when Cecily fell 9 feet from the barn loft face first to concrete.
When I picked her up off the floor she was limp - I watched helplessly from a distance and if I could turn back time I would have dove for her to land on me. I have seen all my children fall in some regard or even small concussions but this fall scared me beyond measure.
She was unconscious for several hours in the ER which may have been a blessing as they were able to get lots of scans completed.
No brain bleeding
No fractures
We went home 6 hours later with our baby bear.
I hope to never experience this part of motherhood again.
She is doing so well and the swelling and bruising come down everyday.

I am so thankful that Levi was still home and had not headed to Arizona. We immediately took the whole family to the ER. A few hours later a dear friend from church came and got Coraline and Cabella.
Clairana, Nephi and I had a special moment of prayer in the chapel that I hope to always remember.

Our picture when we heard the news of the scans.
They were still trying to wake her up at this point so we were all still very anxious to hear from Levi.

Feast

The 54th Annual Feast of the Hunter's Moon.
We stepped back into history at this year's annual Feast of the Hunter's Moon. the Feast is an authentic portrayal of an event that likely took place in the 1700s at Ouiatenon.

We went early to let the kids experience Roman Catholic Mass.
It was such a great discussion and the kids found so many similarities with our church. It helped that we knew the songs and the kids have memorized the Nicene Creed.
I didn't feel as much pressure about if we would fit in because it was outside and with lots of others dressed in their feast clothes.

Homemade Root Beer!

Cecily is 3!

Cecily is THREE!
We love this little baby bear so much.
She is SO FAST. She runs everywhere.
We have been trying to slow her down lately but even an injury doesn't hold her back.
She enjoyed her birthday but it was different without Levi and adjusting to her fall - she does really well but by afternoon she is really tired and hurts.
We opened a few presents and had lots of treats.
We had bookclub in the morning with lots of friends who sang to her which was super sweet and then we had the Kruger family come over in the afternoon for a playdate. We were full of friends for the day.

Nicknames : Baby Bear, Cess, Edithe
She does so well with eating and sleeping.
Favorite Food - Eggs (partially Turkey eggs just because they are the biggest ones) made in the waffle maker.
When we got home from the hospital she ate five eggs and Levi and I were slightly worried but thought at least she is eating!
She isn't potty trained yet but I imagine we will finish that up in the next month.
She doesn't talk very much still but each week seems to add more words.
Levi is her favorite person.
She loves drinking kombucha and eating pickles
Daniel Tiger and Curious George are her favorite shows
I love that she is still squishy and likes to snuggle.
I feel like she is a mixture of Coraline's craziness and Cabella's bull like attitude.

Connolly's dropped off treats.

She helped do farm chores.

We went over to Grandma and Grandpa Brigham's and opened a box full of clothes.

New pajamas from Washington grandparents too!

Around the House.

Dog Life.

Found these drawings from Coraline from awhile ago but I love them so much I wanted to post them here.

Bella is the phone stealer now. New Stage of Life. Takes random photos.

Party in the baby pool while we paint the trim.

Sorry Cecily had to. She is very into helping everyone cook these days. Naked or Not.

Driving Time.

Zion fell asleep like this while we did homeschooling at the kitchen table.
Bella Selfie SUPPOSED to be brushing her teeth.

We were asked to read the new book from Glenn McCarty - I met him at the homeschooling convention and he sent us an email asking to read the book before it was for sale and have an online chat about our thoughts.
We read his first book, Tumbleweed Thompson, with our book club last year.

Caught Cecily reading Mary Poppins.

We really enjoyed the book. It was shorter than his first book so we finished it pretty fast. Starts out with a man who has lost all of his memory and runs into a mute boy.... I'll stop there just in case someone else wants to read it.

Papaw came over to get the olders to play cards but when he came back the little girls begged for a ride too.

Fall Life.

At the start of October Levi and I looked at each other and decided we will have lots of time to get chores done now that soccer is over. Well.....then we got invited to TONS of parties. It has been busy and so fun so far with several more places to go.
The Asay family always have us over during October for a chili and movie night.
Dale family always have a pig roast in October so we partied all weekend.
We also had a church cookout at the Garner's house.

I thought this was so clever to take to a party.
We brought lox out to the hog roast.

I only snagged two pictures from the Evans' family getting together and going to Jeriko's football game. Cecily was crazy and all over the place but it was fun to be with family. It was super late for our crew to be out so that made it extra special.

A couple parties had bounce houses which Cecily figured out she loved.

Levi’s birthday!

This man has a birthday now in between two girls and Halloween and our anniversary - who would have thought that October would have gotten ...
