Pond Play Date!

 Mamaw and Papaw let us enjoy the pond one last time for the year! 

We have LOVED the pond this year and have spent so many playdates there. 

We had a break from our co-op so we had a playdate with one extra family last week. 

The weather was lovely and we had all sorts of treats.

Levi even came home and loaded us up for a hay wagon ride to the pond and back.

City Bus Adventure!

Monthly Adventure Club went on a ride on the City Bus this week! 

Anne and I were the only brave souls to take the bus but everyone else met us at the park for snacks and play time before we headed out to ride again. It was super fun! The kids all loved it and it was a great learning and appreciation for the mamas. Plus our bus station is nice.  

I think we scared/surprised most of the college kids that got on.

Fort Ouiatenon

We went with our other homeschooling monthly group - KLASS to the fort and got a presentation from a woman with so much knowledge about the past. We learned about Mad Hatter from the Wizard of Oz and where that character came from - hats being made in a factory made by mercury! 

I was amazed I had never known that before!

The kids got to see different animal furs and go into the fort. 

Sheets family came along too.

Soccer Saturday

This week I got to help coach Coraline's team and she put in so much more effort. Most times she comes to soccer to socialize. 

This is how it started and I thought well at least she is happy with friends. 

Cecily got to steal our besties grandma and sit with her for a little while which was so nice.

Honey Harvest

After soccer we loaded up and took our hives over to Chris' house to harvest! He is so kind to let us come over and use his expensive equipment every year and show us the bee ropes. 

We learn something new every year. 

We got 6 gallons!

Gather & Learn Day!

We made it through Week 4! 

I cannot honestly believe how smooth it is going and I hope not to jinx myself because I love it so much.

Kelli did an art lesson on shades and shadows and then passed out ice cream and fruit to the kids it was super fun and I was amazed at how well they looked. 

Science! We used microscopes and talk about the two different types of cells. 

It was awesome. We saw kombucha, yogurt, and onion cells. I had never researched cells so much or honestly used a microscope so much and it has been fun. 

Did you know that Robert Hooke, an English scientist, was looking at cork under the microscope and and said it resembled cells or rooms in the monastery and therefore gave the name "cells"!  

Levi's grandparents gave us a book called Hunting with the Microscope By Gaylord Johnson and it has been so helpful.
