Purdue Softball Stadium Grand Opening

Friday night was the Grand Opening for Purdue's Softball Stadium!

13 million dollar project completed by Levi!

We went to cheer on the girls for the first game and Levi wanted to be there just in case.......

I surprised him and invited a few people to join us to celebrate.
It was pretty chilly so the invite list was pretty short. 

Tifni (Levi's sister) and her boys came and my parents. 

Levi's parents were not able to make it.

Rabbit Update

They are OUT of the HOUSE!

We did get a call from Royal King to buy our bunnies but we decided to wait a little longer. Currently, they are six and eight weeks old.

Over the past month, we have been playing Go Fish every night to encourage 

both Clairana and Nephi. 

Clairana has gotten much better on the concept of games and figuring out strategies to win and Nephi now knows all his colors. 

Pappy (Levi's dad) was wifeless a two weeks ago and hung out at our house after church. 

Coraline lost interest in the Go Fish Game

I love that she is becoming a little person who I can talk to and play games with.

Mini Farm Life

Levi and I were both secretly worried when I switched to staying home....mostly because I have always continued to strive and improve my resume and further myself and now that would be on hold. Would I even like being home? Would they drive me crazy? Budget life?

We have great daycare maybe we should not switch things up on the kids....

I can whole heartily say that I absolutely love staying home and being a better wife and mother!

The amount of stress that is gone from our house is fabulous. 

Levi is a better employee and gets to focus more on his work knowing that when he gets home we can just play rather than do chores. 

Also, when the kids are sick (which is so much less without daycare) we don't have to worry about who can take the day off and what meetings can we miss. 

** Now I did say if I get sick you may have to call in!

I am thankful for our church life because it is great to be able to do service for others when we need a project or to get out of the house or have a playdate. 

Maple Syrup

Last year, we helped Elliot collect maple syrup from his trees and this year I decided to try it from our house. 

We scoped out the silver maples and sugar maples before the leaves fell and waited.....

This week we started the process which only last about 10-20 days and it does take about 10 gallons of sap to make a quart of syrup.  

Maple syrup is made in a natural 2-step process:

1. A hole is drilled in the maple tree. Then the sugary circulating fluid leaks out and is collected into a container. As long as the tree is larger than 12 inches around and southern faced it does not harm the tree. 
2. The sugary fluid is boiled until most of the water evaporates, leaving a thick sugary syrup. This part takes SOME time......

It has been consumed for many centuries in North America… since the times of the Indians.

Over 80% of the world’s supply is now produced in Canada.

Remodel Life

Well, I guess we got bored around here.... 

We ended up at Lowes on a Friday night and decided it was time to invest some funds into our bathrooms. 

We are looking at getting our house reappraised this summer to see how much of a difference our work has made from this foreclosure over the past two years. 

We are on the fence about possibly moving. 

We love our house and our location but we are in West Lafayette which is not zoned for animals.

We decided that we will continue to invest our efforts into improving our house seems we do all the work ourselves which is much cheaper and keep our eye out for land that is zoned agriculture.

In the meantime, we get to enjoy new bathrooms soon! Stay Tune!
