Weekly Playdates - Splash Pad

We are trying to get out as much as possible before they whole city shuts down for summer - strange concept. I have set up a weekly playdate with friends from church and this week we decided on the Splash Pad. It is already in the 100s by 10:00 most days.

This place has LOTS of retired couples with LOTS of money to spend. 

The most AMAZING boats and trucks we have ever seen.

Ballet Showcase

On Friday we went to Clairana's Ballet Showcase. 

She did a great job and was one of three that were chosen to move up to the next level! 

We have not decided if she will continue next year....we will see.  

Ballet classes do not run over the summer as most other things - the cost to air condition the buildings is too expensive.

We got a SURPRISE package in the mail from a very special person with 

THREE PASSES to DISNEY!

We jumped around and danced and this pregnant mama may have teared up with how much excitement they have to go.

Sunday Catch Up

For the past few Sundays, Levi has had meetings before church 

so we get to stay home a little longer and meet him later. 

Most times, I am overly prepared to make sure I am not late which results in pictures before church.

BIG DAY IN OUR HOUSE!! 

Clairana completed her reading lessons! 

She now can read at a 2nd grade level. We are both SO excited of what she has accomplished in Kindergarten - especially seems I was very nervous to homeschool. 

They have a suggestion of 20 books to practice reading before moving on to spelling and a greater depth of language arts. 

We will spend time this summer while I am nursing the new baby reading and reading and reading. 

I LOVE this book and it has been such a great instruction book for me to teach reading - it really has a different way of looking at the concept. 

RAIN!

It's Raining!!

 I am not going to lie it rained here all day and not only were the kids excited but Levi and I were both excited too! 

As part of our morning homeschooling routine we talk about the calendar and the weather - it has gotten so boring to say sunshine and hot that we now pick a place on the globe to research. 

Looking back now I am thankful for having these two so close together - they really do love and play with eachother all day.
