Temple with Coraline

Coraline will be going into Young Women's in January which means she can go with the other youth (11-18) to the temple. In the temple the youth perform baptisms which we reference the apostle Paul in Corinthians. 

She got to go visit the temple president and matron - thankfully it was very comfortable for her because she knows their sweet faces so well. Brother & Sister Connolly. We walked around and talked about Jesus Christ and the blessings of the gospel in our lives. Not pictured a handful of other friends that went with us and lunch out together.

Halloween

This year we had a church trunk or treat, and we went to see the cousins and walk around in their neighborhood! C also went to a Halloween party for older teens.

Dr. Wile

This summer I reached out to the author of our science books and asked if he would ever be available to meet our co-op. He actually ended up being two hours from Lafayette so we scheduled a time to meet at a park and do his favorite science experiments. Some of the co-op came - mostly just our older group. 

 Nephi by the wood he worked on that is now at the new park in West Lafayette.

 Experiments - he told the kids he has a virus named after him. He also has a book about how becoming a scientist changed his look on religion and how he found Christ in all the connections in the world - great book - most of the moms in co-op read it this year. 

He shared his journey with the children too. 

Moms surrounding him afterwards. He is very kind and funny - I asked him for his picture at conference a couple years ago to show the kids which they found it awesome. Celebrity in the education world.

Trunk or Treat

 Girls off to the trunk or treat! Lotte went with me to meet up with C's girlfriends, so she missed out this year. (probably the last year we can get away with this) 

Nephi was too young for the church dance and felt too old for trunk or treat so he stayed home.

Sabbath

Nephi has a new calling at church - he is the chorister during Sacrament. I love how involved our youth get to be each week.

 I raced out of Sunday school to pick up Lotte from nursery only to bump into these two outside the door - Nephi already scooped her up.

YW Activity

Some of the young women finished up our service project this week. We made bags for walkers and wheelchairs for a local nursing home. We did this project for two weeks and they turned out amazing.
