Nephi's Temple Trip

Saturday morning Clariana and Nephi went on a temple trip to Indianapolis with the youth of the church. 

Nephi's car was all the youngest crew - Nephi's birthday is in December so he spent all of last year waiting for his old class to be old enough to join him. Lucy took lots of pictures in the car and her mom sent them to me. 

 

Young Men Activity + Coraline

This past week Levi got to sub in for a Young Men's activity with Brother Goodsell. They played Minute to Win It games. Coraline got to join too because we had a scheduling conflict and she ended up being parentless for an hour.

Pinewood Derby Night!

For Activity Days this week we had a Pinewood Derby Race. Levi nicely made a car for two new girls and one of them actually won the race! 

Levi was in charge of the weigh in and I had to come up with a witty saying/award for the non ranking racers, which happened to be harder than I thought in such a short amount of time!

Church Activiites

 The younger girls had a spa night. Coraline and Cabella with some of the activity day girls.

 Clairana had  their annual YW meeting where the girls were in charge and introduced the newest young women to their group - those turning 12 this year. 

Clairana was in charge of discussing and creating goals for the year. 

The boys and Cecily were helping with the Deacons and they played airsoft in the gym.

Levi and Nephi were in charge of a youth activity for church and they played airsoft. Levi ended up buying a new gun for the activity and we tried it out at home. 

 We may have had Nephi bundle up and shoot at him.

4H Skit Night

 Our 4H group this week. We were missing some regulars due to sickness but the kids had a great night.

Island of the Blue Dolphins Book Club

In the Pacific there is an island that looks like a big fish sunning itself in the sea. Around it, blue dolphins swim, otters play, and sea elephants and sea birds abound. Once, Indians also lived on the island. And when they left and sailed to the east, one young girl was left behind. This is the story of Karana, the Indian girl who lived alone for years on the island and survived.

 Face Paint - this is the paint they would use to show they were not married. Clairana's idea to paint faces of the girls. 

Then her and Brighten took my phone and I found loads of gems on it.

 We had snacks! We also tried mussels and oysters in an attempt to pretend we were her and what items she ate in the book.

 We cheated a bit and got crackers too.
