Swimming Lessons

We put Clairana in swimming lessons at the YMCA and yesterday was her first day.
She did really well - it is a class for children 6-36 mths so we might end up putting Nephi in the class as well..
It was actually mostly dads that were in the pool, so Levi took one for the team.

Picture Catch Up

LOVE that Straight SMILE we are starting to call him 'level' oh and maybe one day he will be an architect per his father.

This is a jump zone at the mall...this little lady is not scared of anything!

Gotta wear the boots even when it is 100 degrees outside

Passed out on the bathroom floor must have been exhausting to swim and then take a shower - rough life Neph

Sisterly Love has begun

Sitting up like a PRO

Look at the baby toes in the sandbox! Love those feet!

Gobel Family Side

Over the memorial day weekend the Gobel side of the family came over from California. Patty did a fabulous job of putting together this adorable collage of pictures - okay so I don't know exactly who did it but I can guess it was not my father...... Love ya.....
PS for those of you who want to point them out in the photo below my dad, Troy, has baby Liam- right middle and Patty is in the middle wearing a Harley shirt.

Anyways, it was a great time and hot as a bomb! Thanks for the memories!

Langston and Clairana

This is Langston he is my girlfriend Amanda's little man.
He was born in January so he is almost exactly six months older than Clairana.
We finally got to have a playdate this past weekend and as you can see they didn't get along at all. Yep these two innocent faces were busted kissing in the tent.

Wedding Bells - Terry now SMITH Family

Alright let me start from the top....because I didn't get to give a speech at this wedding, you are going to hear it on my blog....This is my girl Brandy Kay.
We have known each other since ...here you go people.... I was an office assistant in grade school and would help out delivering mail to the teachers (I know lame but hey it was grade school) and my dear friend Brandy would cry almost everyday and get to leave class and go to the office/nurse station to talk to her mom on the phone....this is how we met.
I guess our career paths turned out I went to school for business and she went to school to be an RN.

I LOVE this girl, we have been through it all together.
The 'ups' of being crazy going on family vacations together and then well not so 'family' vacations where lets say those memories are not rated G. To her standing up at my wedding, her calling me right after I had Clairana and was ALL hormonal about being homesick and telling me she was expecting after we both had been trying for what seemed like forever! To getting older and realizing that life has its struggles -
her dad losing his battle with cancer and mom being diagnosed with cancer. The list just goes on and on.
I love this girl we have great memories and I am very thankful to see her all the time and watch our babies grow up together.

Alright here we go she ran off this past week and got married to Mr. Smith.
This is an amazing man who has been in her life well lets face it our life for several years.
They have a beautiful baby boy Jace and hopefully many or at least a few more to come.... wink wink hint hint.

Congrats to this amazing couple!

Oh and of course because I am 'known' for decorating at weddings - I ran out to her house and decorated their front porch like a crazy person late last night right before they got home.
PS. Brooklyn (Brandy's baby sister) is not a very good sidekick with surprises!
But she is the baby sister I never had and I love her for that.

SwingSet - Birthday Present Complete

Here it is the beautiful swingset with a clear tunnel as you can see is pretty high! We have not put the swings on just yet but you get the picture - Clair LOVES it and Nephi enjoys the sandbox.

Thanks to everyone who gave for Clairana's birthday present it worked out great!!
Duncan likes it too! We are still working on sharing as you can see in Clair's face!

Oh and Mr. Evans enjoyed the project and being able to get his tools out.

Haircut

My cousin Drew has taken on a new profession as a barber and we asked if Clairana could get her haircut...
I think he was pretty nervous as he told us during that he had never cut a girl's hair let alone a toddler.
He did great and so did C.

Franklin....

This past week the world lost a great little dachshund, Franklin. Now Frank had been in my life a long time, I think since I was about 10. He was our family dog which took TONS of convincing to get - my dad was not very excited about Frank but he grew to fall asleep with him in the chair within a few weeks.

The day I got to meet Franklin....

Symone had drove to my mom's house to pick Dustin and I up for the weekend, in my dad's big truck. We climb in and there he was the most adorable little teeny tiny one. I of course was in a cute little dress and wanted to hold Franklin the whole way home. As we started down the road to Crawfordsville from Lafayette I looked up at her and yelled ... something scalding hot is running down my leg! Yep he had marked his territory on me!

Will always remember - Love  You Franklin Lynette Colette!

Evans' Family Update

So, here are the updates around our house....
Nephi is sitting up really well now which is a blessing, although he is starting to lunge forward which is scary to think he may craw in the next few months. He is SEVEN months old! Still nursing but also eating baby food - only a certain kind and no homemade - he is one picky eater! Texture baby.

Clairana has become a full blown toddler - including throwing tantrums which are very fun but then in the next five minutes giving us kisses and saying she loves us. She also is talking a lot more including saying shapes and colors which is awesome. Oh and about a month ago we started giving her the binkie only when she is going to bed....slowing weaning this addition! It has been working out pretty well.

Levi is still loving his job and enjoying all the benefits which are free work boots and an ice machine that makes it like Sonic - yup jealous! Told him he should trip a secretary today and get me a job.

I have started on a new adventure, I am going to become a CPT or Certified Personal Trainer. Got my study materials yesterday and it will be an eight week course with a lovely three hour exam at the end. After lots of thought and prayer I have decided that this would be a great way to get out of the house, take the kids with me to the gym daycare, workout for free, make a little spending money, meet new people. Now I just have to study and pass this test oooh and become an extrovert to teach classes! We will see.....

Beautie Janae

This past week our family suffered a lost of a beautiful baby girl, Beautie Porche, she is my second cousin on the Ashby side of the family. I had never been to an infant funeral before so it was very emotional and overwhelming.

Lydia (her mother) is such a very strong woman. She had decorated with tons of pictures, her tiny little shoes, little blankets, flowers, and even painted her nails. This little lady looked so peaceful like she was just sleeping.
Lydia has sufferred through more pain in this lifetime then anyone I have known. She has lost both her parents and now her little girl at such a young age.

Prayers Prayers Prayers.....one day we will understand. Familes are FOREVER!

Beautie Janae Porche, 4-month-old daughter of Dartanyan and Lydia Sanders Porche, passed away unexpectedly at 9:11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in her home. She was born in Lafayette on February 22, 2012.

Surviving with her parents are her paternal grandmother, Valorie Parker, maternal great-grandparents, James and Joann Ashby, maternal aunts and uncles: James Ashby, Jared Ashby, Christina Sanders, and paternal aunts and uncles, Irving Madden, Maurice Waller, and Lashae Porche all of Lafayette, great-aunt, Debra Trader (husband, Brad) of Monticello, and great-uncle, Richard Ashby of Vincennes. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jan Laverne Ashby and Oscar Sanders.

Jump It with family & friends

We had a playdate to Jump It which is a place full of bounce houses.
Abbi (my cousin) came along to enjoy the fun and help with Clairana.
While we were there my girlfriend Brandy joined us with her son Jace and nephew Keatyn.
Wow it was a day full of fun and crazies!
