Hansel & Gretel - Nephi

Nephi played Hansel in drama this year. He did very well and was full of sarcasm. They just love drama, and I am very thankful all the effort that others put into making it happen. I LOVE and greatly appreciate signing up to volunteer for only a small portion of this mass production.

 Hanging out chaperoning - this girl was too loud during the performance, so we snuck out. She must have recognized Nephi on stage because she kept yelling at him.

Roadside Stand

The big kids decided to put up a roadside stand all by themselves. They are selling berry plants and have made a little money! They were so excited. 

 Don't mind Nephi's makeup - its drama week. 

 

Science Lesson/Burger King

During Science class, Clairana and her classmates were discussing the big debate of cows and the environment. It just so happened that I took Lotte to the doctor and Clairana BEGGED to go try out the Impossible Whopper from Burger King. It is a vegetable made burger. 

It was actually amazing how much it resembled beef. The texture was very similar. The flavor we both thought tasted like a dull meat. It was expensive and when we ordered it, they said due to the restrictions of cooking it with other meat they could need a few minutes to clean the grill and then cook it by itself - they were very nice about doing the extra work though. 

Because of the size we couldn't finish it, so C decided to bring it home to her siblings - which no one even noticed it wasn't a regular burger! 

 

Around the House

 They were super excited to have the grandparents back and to have them over for dinner.

Weekly Church Youth Activities

Nephi is the President of his Deacon's Quorum and they decided to make cookies and go visit the fire station. The crew was SO nice to them and showed them all around.

For Activity Day Girls this week Coraline and Cabella had a lesson on temples and created their own made out of treats. 

Clairana went to the YW and RS activity and had cookies and talked about General Conference.

 Newest Farm Loves!

Our drop off kitten Cinnamon ended up getting pregnant, so we have four little loves. 

Kittens have to be the easiest birthing farm animal. 

 

Faces of History & LSO

Our last couple of weeks at co-op had extra fun. I planned for Lafayette Symphony Orchestra to come bring violins to all the kids and give a beginner lesson. 

This ended up being on our Faces of History week as well - which means we cancel afternoon classes, and all sat around and listen to our IEW kids read papers in first person.
